Teenagers in court for getting drunk

A Surulere Chief Magistrate's Court in Lagos, on Monday, granted bail in the sum of N80,000 each to two unemployed teenagers, charged with destroying a table after getting drunk.

Magistrate A. Tobi granted bail to Rasheed Olateju, 18, and Ganiyu Olaiya,19, after they pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful damage to property.

The Magistrate directed the teenagers to provide a surety each, also as a condition for the bail.

The prosecutor, Mr. Samuel Ishola, had told the court that the duo, on July 19 at the Paris Hotel, Orile-Iganmu, got drunk and damaged a glass centre table worth N180,000.

Ishola said that the centre table belonged to one Mr. Abuchi Okolo.
